Sustainability
Nothing changes unless you change.
Sustainability isn’t just a trend within fashion.
The health and well-being of the planet we are living on and taking resources from isn’t something that can be ignored without consequence.
13.1 million tons of textiles are wasted in rubbish dumps every year.
Only 2 million tons (15% of annually produced clothing) gets recovered for recycling annually.
Compared to 65.6% (or 45.90 million tons) of paper products, 3.17 million tons of glass and 2.65 million tons of plastics - this is an issue.
We need to act now to reverse this wastage.
At OD our plan is simple. Get pre-worn, pre-loved clothes and re-design and re-construct them into timeless yet contemporary staple wardrobe pieces.
To ensure we are a fully sustainable company we have a zero-waste policy in place, meaning we use each piece of clothing and fabric as efficiently as possible. What we can’t use, i.e if it’s too small or too damaged, goes either into our woven or jersey specific scraps bags which then gets used as stuffing for our cushions.
We receive donations from customers, clients and charities. We then filter and sort how we can utilise each piece, then we re-design it and make it in our UK based studio.
